This sweet little girl was all dressed up in her Red Christmas dress and the sunlight was hitting her beautifully that I had to snap a picture with my phone. This was painted entirely from a photo reference. She's growing up fast but still as sweet as a "Sweet Red Pepper!"
This particular painting is what is called a "Sketch" and is used primarily as a prelude to a more formalized portrait painting. By painting a quick sketch from life allows the artist to denote color notes and tones that aren't necessarily available in a photograph.
