What a time this was!  I had a blast and am so grateful for winning the Blue Ribbon! It was an honor getting to know our First Responder Models and painting them.  They are true heroes! 

This particular painting is what is called a "Sketch" and is used primarily as a prelude to a more formalized portrait painting. By painting a quick sketch from life allows the artist to denote color notes and tones that aren't necessarily available in a photograph.
